Harriet Rickard

Harriet’s passion is disputes, and she specialises in complex commercial litigation.

She has represented clients in proceedings before the Supreme, District, and Local Courts, and has experience in class action proceedings as well as bankruptcy matters in the Federal Court.

Aside from being technically excellent (which is the AB baseline), Harriet has a developed sense for the both the commercial and personal pressures faced by parties to a dispute, which often lead her towards some out-of-the-box strategies. This approach has resulted in her achieving some truly unlikely results in unfavourable circumstances.

Harriet is a Northern Beaches girl, and you will find her in the surf most mornings (a legal advice-free zone). She is also a serious contender in her local golf-club championship.

The role of a legal adviser requires more than a presentation of options and insights on what appears to be the best intellectual approach. Disputes don’t exist in a vacuum, and the best advice on disputes involves a truly tailored approach. Technical expertise is a given, but the truly exceptional outcomes are driven by a deep understanding of the commercial and personal factors surrounding the situation.
