As a Lawyer and a Computer Scientist, James has a keen interest in the intersection of technology and the law.
James has spent the past 20 years in consulting practice specialising in information security and strategic operations and policy applying his expertise in privacy and information governance, regulatory compliance, and legal processing of information.
James’s success as a consultant and lawyer has been centred on his belief that privacy, security, and compliance do not have to be onerous activities that stop business.
As a Canadian in Australia, James has maintained close ties to the local ex-Pat community associations and often volunteers helping to run events for Canadians and Americans in Sydney. He strongly believes that a sense of community is important in both your personal and professional life.
A self-confessed nerd (in good company at AB), one of James’ claims to fame is that he has stayed at every resort at Disney World… more than once.
James has worked for organisations across both private and public sectors including APRA, King & Wood Mallesons, StatePlus Financial, and the Government of Canada.
My job is to help our customers to achieve holistic, cost-effective security, privacy, and governance strategies that are right for your business and your risk appetite. A good consultant helps to shine a light on the available roads and their respective risks and costs, but its up to the client to choose the path to walk.
